Boat season waits for no one. And around here, we've been running boat hull patches back to back - practically dealing them out one after another. It's that time of year when people pull their boats out of storage and realize something needs attention before they ever touch the water.

Hull damage on an aluminum boat is one of those things that looks manageable until you really get into it. Small cracks, stress fractures, holes from impact - they all have to be addressed the right way. That means clean welds, tight edges, and patches that are actually going to hold up under real conditions out on the lake.

The weld work on these patches is something we take seriously. Every patch gets fully welded around the perimeter with consistent bead quality. No shortcuts, no sloppy runs. The hull has to be watertight and structurally sound when it leaves our shop - that's the only standard that matters.

One thing people don't always think about with aluminum boat repair is temperature. Welding aluminum is finicky enough on its own, and cold shop temps only add to the challenge. We work through it, but it's a real factor in getting clean results. We're not going to rush a weld just to get a boat out the door faster.

We work on a wide range of jobs here in Columbia, MO - and boat hull repairs have been a big part of what's coming through the shop lately. If you've got hull damage that's been sitting on your to-do list, now's the time to get it sorted before the water gets warm.
